Dr. Amira Kafi brings to the position vast experience in international affairs, including service in several United Nations peace operations and extensive experience working with Refugees and Internal Displaced Persons, coupled with extensive experience in many African countries.
Amira studied Political Science for Ph.D., Masters in Political Science, International Law; Diploma in Diplomatic Studies, International Human Rights Law.
Currently working with the UN special envoy for the Secretary General, Yemen. Her research interests on gender, political science, women peace and security and human rights. She has worked with different UN peacekeeping missions and the African Union in several countries.
