Sebastien Aka Kouakou is a GTA-PhD Candidate in the Hispanic Studies / Migration and Ethnic Relations collaborative programs at the University of Western Ontario. He specializes in the Contemporary Global Migration Related Issues.

Currently working as a Development Officer at the Conseil de la Coopération de l’Ontario, Sebastien is also a relentless activist for peace and social justice. He studied, conducted researches and attended conferences in many countries around the world (Canada, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Spain, France, Colombia, Cuba, etc.) and he continuously engages in youth leadership, entrepreneurship and educational projects as well as community development projects in Africa, with the Global Leadership Foundation (non-for-profit organisation).

Sebastien has a large professional experience in teaching at secondary and university level, language translation and interpretation, youth mentorship, social enterprise, cooperatives and project management. He speaks fluently French, English, Spanish and five other languages. Sebastien is also interested in democracy and peace building around the world, in a strict respect of life and humanity, environmental protection, and in a special way, he is interested in collaborating with organizations to empower vulnerable women and fighting against any type of abuse to women.
